About

Join us for an inspiring field trip to the McNay Art Museum, where we’ll explore 2 exhibitions:

Eye Candy by Derrick Adams Dive into this vibrant wall installation that examines American pop culture through a Black lens. Adams challenges the commodification of the Black body in media, explores traditional masculinity, and sparks conversations about beauty and representation.

Rasquachismo: 35 Years of a Chicano Sensibility Discover the aesthetics of the working class and the underdog as celebrated in Tomás Ybarra Frausto’s groundbreaking essay. This exhibit highlights the creativity, resourcefulness, and resilience of Chicano culture.

Interactive Fun for All Ages Students will engage with the exhibits through a worksheet/activity, making their experience educational and hands-on.
