About
Join us for an outdoor adventure at Government Canyon State Natural Area, where students will explore the diverse bird species that call this unique ecosystem home. Because the park is located at an ecological crossroads, a wide variety of birds can be found here throughout the year.
Program Overview:Students will participate in a 45-minute Birding Basics program, learning essential bird identification skills and discovering how bird diversity helps researchers assess ecosystem health. Following the lesson, students will embark on a guided bird walk along the Savannah Loop Trail, putting their new skills into practice as they observe birds in their natural habitat.
