About
Join us for an educational and exciting field trip to the Mitchell Audubon Center!
Wetlands play a crucial role in the ecosystem of South Texas, benefiting plants, animals, and humans alike. During our visit, students will assist Audubon Educators in monitoring the health of local wetlands by investigating its inhabitants and water quality using the scientific method. Our Nature of Learning programs feature hands-on activities that cover topics like ecology, scientific observation, resource management, and building healthy ecosystems for both people and animals. Students will enjoy a day filled with outdoor movement and activity, gaining a real-time understanding of the importance of science. We will have a break for lunch, so don't forget to bring a packed lunch and stay hydrated.
What to Bring:
- Dress appropriately for outdoor activities (expect to get messy!)
- Closed-toe shoes
- Hats
- Sunscreen
- Bug spray
- Packed lunch
- Plenty of water
We look forward to a fun and informative day at the Mitchell Audubon Center!
